In 2002, the car has been further modified with a John Eales triple throttle body plenum. This gave about 60 lb of torqueand the engine is approx 400 bhp and 400 lb/ft of torque. The car was leading several championships before hitting a suicidal animal at Goodwood at around 120 mph and depositing the car and Steve in a corn field some 80+ metres from the track with no spoiler or front grill and a hole the size of your fist in the radiator stone guard and radiator.

The car had also some suspension damage and the whole rear suspension and transmission has been overhauled and fitted with a set of GAZ custom shocks. The car will be competing at the end of the season in preparation for next year. It will return. The work took a little longer than we thought but the 2003 season was the best that the car has had taking the Class Championship in the BARC CCC championship and finishing 10th overall. The car was also resprayed and transformed into its Purple Haze colour scheme. The car moved into the modified production class and fitted with a tow bar, it still is driven to

events towing a set of slicks and wets on a small trailer. Even with the trailer it can still turn in a sub 5 second 0-60!

For 2004, the engine has been back to John Eales and has been rebuilt with eight throttle bodies, allowing a throttle body and injector per cylinder. This has further increased power and torque and smoothed out the power delivery. Front suspension mounts have been upgraded to cope with the additional stress and the car basically checked out from front to back.
